Curriculum Vitae
Becky's first experience of singing in front of a real audience was when in February, 1992 at the age of eleven, she won Hull's Young Entertainer of The Year at the Hull City Hall. This gave Becky the taste for Talent Competitions, and she went on to win five more during the summer of the same year.
As a result of winning these competitions, Becky was invited to perform at various outdoor events organized by the Hull City Council. During this time, Becky was learning more songs and eventually started to take bookings in the pubs and clubs in an around Hull.
After three years on the circuit, Becky teamed up with two local songwriters, and using the name Trilogy, recorded three original songs that were sent out to record companies and management agencies.
After a short while, a management agency from Sheffield got in touch and were interested in Becky's voice, but unfortunately not the songwriters, so the difficult decision was made and Becky went her own way. She was taken to a recording studio and recorded three cover versions: Dolly parton's Jolene, Doris Day's Deadwood Stage and Blondie's Sunday Girl. To promote these songs, Becky sang them at radio road shows all over Great Britain; the largest of these road shows been on Blackpool Promenade in front of 10,000 + people on the same stage as the likes of Carol Decker, Suggs etc..
As a result of these road shows, Becky signed a recording contract with Living Beat Records and released Jolene, which reached no.96 in the UK Dance charts.
After two years Becky parted company with her manager and returned back to the Club circuit.
At the age of 16, she became the lead singer of an all girl rock band called Crash, performing songs by the likes of The Bangles, The Cranberries etc.... Becky enjoyed her time with the girls but due to various different reasons the band parted company and Becky returned to being a solo singer.
Apart from being off the circuit to have her two children, Becky has been a regular performer on the cabaret scene for nearly fifteen years, working either self contained or with dots. Versatile in what she does, she sings everything from Pop and Rock to Reggae and Rock and Roll. She is also established on the Country music scene and has the material to do a full night of Country Music.
Becky performed at the Horseshoe Theatre Bar, Blackpool on the 58th Annual Blackpool Command Performance 2007, along with various other acts from clubland, and also took part in the ten out of ten charity spectacular at the Hull New Theatre in October. She is co-organizing a 'Countdown to Christmas' Charity event that takes place at the Hull City Hall on Wed 26th November, 2008.
